“Here are three desserts everyone is sure to remember and give thanks for – Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie, Apple Pie Bars, and Pumpkin Mousse Parfaits,” she continued. “Have a happy and joyful Thanksgiving!”
The Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie recipe was originally published in Go-To Dinners. This beginner-level recipe calls for brown sugar, butter, good bourbon (like Maker’s Mark), chocolate chips, and more. Whisk the dry ingredients and wet ingredients in two separate bowl, then stir them together. Pour the mixture into a store-bought pie crust (!!), then bake until golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream and wow your guests.
Switch up your traditional apple pie routine with Apple Pie Bars. This intermediate-level recipe requires vanilla, flour, chopped walnuts, and other ingredients for the crust and two kinds of apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and more for the apple filling. Prepare the crust first, which involves mixing together the ingredients, letting it refrigerate in a pan, and baking until golden brown. Then, whip up the apple filling, spreading onto the crust when its ready. Add remaining crust to the top for a crunchy, delicious finish. Then cut into squares and serve with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
The last one is a new twist on pumpkin pie: Pumpkin Mousse Parfaits. These are super simple to prepare and are packed with tons of flavor. They are made with dark rum, orange zest, pumpkin, heavy cream, ginger cookies, and more ingredients. You’ll combine the ingredients then assemble the mixture in clear parfait glasses for an aesthetically pleasing dessert. Top with whipped cream and slivered crystalized ginger that will make it almost too good to eat!
Many people commented on the tasty recipes. “The apple pie bars—I forgot about those, Ina! Happy Thanksgiving, Queen. And this is your week—go get em! ♥️♥️♥️” Jennifer Garner commented.
Someone else shared, “My uncle used to make your bourbon chocolate pecan pie every year for thanksgiving. He’s been gone 4 years now and I am going to take this as a sign I should make it this year in his honour 💕.”
“We LOVE the bourbon chocolate pecan pie! Have made it for years. After my family leaves, I get to eat it even for breakfast! Yummy!❤️” another wrote.
“They look amazing!! I do the same thing every year, aim for one chocolate dessert, one pumpkin dessert and one apple dessert! Can’t go wrong. These ones look perfect!” someone else said.
Surprising and delighting guests with unique recipes is one of the joys of Thanksgiving. If you can’t choose just one, make them all! Everyone will appreciate the leftovers, trust us!
